Why'd Ya do That!?
After last week's effort (Hulk Hogan singing badly), I thought I would not inflict anything that had a musical element upon you. There is a lot of buzz around the internet about the new Old Spice guy...a record number of views on Youtube in what has been dubbed a viral marketing campaign.
But I found an older Old Spice commercial that I love!!!
Bruce Campbell; star of the Evil Dead movies, and the greatest "B-Movie" actor of all time. Hey, he did play the only villain in the Spiderman trilogy to thwart the hero! (Okay, he played the theatre usher who wouldn't let Peter Parker in to see Mary Jane on stage... but it still counts).
Bruce did his own series of Old Spice commercials too. Not quite as popular as the latest version, but with nearly 2 million hits on Youtube for this ad alone, not too bad.
The question: Why'd Ya Do That!? I would probably say; money, but when you're Bruce Campbell, the answer was probably Why Not!!!
Enjoy
Congratulations Pete!
We reckon Peter Gardyne did pretty damn good at the National Bank Young Farmer Contest Grand Final in the weekend. He narrowly missed out on the title to Tasman's Grant McNaughton. What a great effort for a young first timer in the contest! And what a great week in Gore, culminating with the show in the MLT Events Centre (what a transformation!) and the ball at the T & C.
Well done to everyone involved, and good work to the AgriKids and TeenAg competitiors as well!
Agri-Kids Race Off
Last years young Farmer of the Year, Tim O'Sullivan, presenting the winning Agri-Kids team (The Dirty Gumboots from Tokonui) with their medals, after winning the Bottom of the South Race Off!
Subway shout! July 2nd
This week Subway went to Clutterbucks Four Square in Mataura. They were nominated by the McCones who lost their dog the week before. The staff at Clutterbucks were more than helpful and ensured that the McCones were quickly reunited with their beloved Rottie. Cheers Clutterbucks!
The Flounderer
Millsy and Nic got to taste test the Heartland Hotel's entry in the Monteith's Beer and Wild Food Challenge: The Flounderer! What a breakfast! Check out MBWFC for more information.
Monday vs Friday
Thanks to our account manager Nicole for showing us this clip... definitely how I feel on a cold wintry Monday!!Way cooler than Bieber...
This is Greyson Chance, 12 years old performing Lady Gaga's Paparazzi! He blows that Bieber kid out of the water.Congratulations
Well done to Dorothy and Alan Dodd who won our Duck Shooter's and Duck Widow's pack. Dorothy and Alan have been married for 50 years and Dorothy reckons that Alan has been shooting for at least 60 and these days has the whole family involved in a big traditional weekend. Have a great weekend!
Subway shout! April 16
This week Subway went to BNZ in Gore. Sherryl had been having a bit of dental bother and felt bad for having to head off to the dentist when they were understaffed so thought she would surprise everyone by entering the bank into the Subway Shout!
The brilliant Ricky Gervais
When I heard Simply Red's If You Don't Know Me By Now this morning on Hokonui Gold - I instantly thought of this video featuring TV's most annoying and creepy boss. Warning: May cause you to shudder everytime you hear Simply Red!!Subway shout! April 16
This week Subway went to Autoworx. Millsy and I were impressed by the effort Graham went to to secure the win for the team with a poem - until we realised he had already used in on Brad and P last year... at least he went to the effort to change the names!
An Intriguing Competition
Congratulations to everyone that took away the $20 vouchers for Intrigue gifts and a big congratulations to Felicity and family who took away the major prize... a Nintendo Wii!
Check out what Intrigue has to offer by clicking here.
